The hotel stands at the end of the pedestrian street in the middle of the village, a five-star Relais & Châteaux property with 29 rooms, five of them suites. It reopened in December 2025 with interiors by the British artist Luke Edward Hall: heavy curtains, deep armchairs, murals peopled with legends. Pierre Frey fabrics, hand-painted frescoes and antique furniture carry the rest. Alpine charm meets English fantasy, and the result is more theatre than chalet. Its operator, Chapitre Six, opens a second Alpine house on 18 December 2026 — the Bourbon Hotel in Courchevel 1850.
Two of the nine room categories at the Hôtel Saint-Georges sleep four, and they do it in opposite ways. The Deluxe Mezzanine is 28 m² built upwards, two queen beds on two levels, described by the hotel as a treehouse. The Duplex Suite is 58 m² of the same idea taken seriously: two floors, a staircase, a room where the four of you are not in each other’s way. Which one you book decides most of what a week in Megève feels like.

A village, not a lift station
What Megève is, and where the hotel sits in it
Megève was a working Savoyard village before it became a ski resort in the 1910s, and it still reads as a village first. A church square, cobbled streets, horse-drawn sleighs where another resort would put a lift station. The restaurants and the shops are the evening, not the wait for the next ski day.
That shape has one consequence worth knowing before you book: in Megève the hotels sit in and around the village rather than on the snow, and a free shuttle runs to the lift stations. The Saint-Georges is at 159, rue Monseigneur Conseil, at the end of the pedestrian street, with the slopes no more than 300 metres away. You walk to dinner. You do not drive to it.
Seven resorts, one pass
Where you ski: Evasion Mont-Blanc
Megève sits in the middle of Evasion Mont-Blanc, which is why the same pass reaches six other resorts: Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce, Combloux, La Giettaz, Les Contamines-Montjoie and Hauteluce. The numbers behind it:
- 445 km of pistes served by 110 lifts, between 850 m and 2,353 m, with a vertical drop of 1,503 m across the area.
- 48 green runs, 63 blue, 85 red and 34 black — a spread that explains who the resort is for.
- Four sectors above the village: Rochebrune, Mont d’Arbois and Le Jaillet, with Côte 2000 higher up.
The skiing above Megève is wide, wooded and mostly gentle. Anyone chasing couloirs will be disappointed here and should be told so before the deposit. A group of mixed ability will have the opposite week: nobody is stranded at the top of something they cannot ski, and Mont Blanc is in view from most of the runs.

Dates for this winter
When the season opens this winter
The lift company gives Saturday 19 December 2026 as the general opening of Evasion Mont-Blanc, with partial openings possible on the weekends of 5–6 and 12–13 December if there is snow. Those two weekends are a gamble, not a plan.
The hotel runs to the same rhythm. It is open daily from 19 December 2026 to 18 April 2027, and from 2 November to 18 December it opens on Thursdays, Fridays and weekends only. A November stay is therefore possible, but it is a village stay with a spa, not a ski week.
How the evening works
The restaurant, the bar and the arcade
Le Trappeur serves every day from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 19:00 to 21:30. Timber-clad walls, vintage table settings, long tables that guests share: the hotel calls it a timeless bistro, and the cooking is French and generous rather than tweezered. Relais & Châteaux lists it as La Table du Trappeur, where the kitchen reworks regional dishes.
The Piano Bar Saint-Georges opens from 16:00 to midnight, which means it catches the hour when skis come off. Deep velvets, low light, murals painted by Luke Edward Hall, board games on the coffee tables. In winter a pianist plays; in summer the same room works as a reading room.
One floor is given over to an arcade room: retro machines, pinball, vintage consoles, board games. It is the detail that answers the question of what teenagers do here between four and seven in the afternoon.

The wellness area
Two hours of contrast therapy
The wellness area opens daily from 19:00 to 21:00, and the hours are the point rather than a limitation: it is built for the end of the day, not for the middle of it. The sequence is contrast therapy — Japanese sauna, cold baths, hot bath, jacuzzi — and the body is meant to move between temperatures rather than settle at one.
Alongside it: a duo treatment room for bespoke massages, and a full fitness room with cardio machines, weights and a punch bag. Treatments are booked with the hotel directly.
Enjoy Ski is a travel agency. We book hotels and chalets, not treatments or medical appointments, and nothing on this page is medical advice. Contrast therapy is not for everyone: if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure or you are pregnant, ask your doctor before you use the sauna and the cold baths.

Nine categories, one decision
Which room to book
Back to the two rooms that sleep four, because that is the choice most groups actually face here:
- Deluxe Mezzanine, 28 m² — two queen beds on two levels, built like a treehouse. Right for two adults and two children who do not need a door between them.
- Duplex Suite, 58 m² — two full floors and twice the space. Right for four adults, or for parents who want the evening to themselves after eight.
- Prestige Suite, 47 m² — a king bed, a separate sitting room and a sofa bed, so it also takes four on one level.
For two, the question is simpler: a balcony or not. Superior Balcony and Deluxe sit at 24 and 26 m², the Terrace Junior Suite adds a private terrace at 35 m², and the Suite at 48 m² has a sitting room of its own and a balcony that looks at the church spire. The Classic, at 19 m², is the smallest alpine cocoon here and the honest answer for a short stay where the room is for sleeping.

Road, rail and air
How to get to Megève
The nearest airport is Geneva, with Lyon-Saint-Exupéry, Chambéry and Grenoble further out. There is no railway station in the village: the nearest one is Sallanches, down in the valley, and the last stretch is by road whichever way you come.
Once you are in, the village does the rest. The centre is pedestrian, the free shuttle runs to the lift stations, and a hotel at the end of that street means the car can stay where you left it for the week.
Who this suits
Is the Saint-Georges your hotel
- Anyone who wants the village and not the piste. You stay in the middle of Megève and walk to everything, with the slopes 300 metres away.
- Mixed groups. Wide gentle sectors for some, 85 red runs and 34 black across the area for others.
- Families. Two room categories take four, and the arcade room covers the hours between skiing and dinner.
- Anyone who travels for interiors. A Luke Edward Hall interior is a reason to come in its own right.
- Anyone who books late in the day. A spa that opens at seven in the evening fits a full ski day rather than competing with it.
We book hotels, chalets and apartments in Megève and across the French Alps. Tell us the dates and the number of guests, and we will put together the options, confirm availability and hold the booking. Availability is confirmed at the moment of booking.
