The French Alps are famous not only for their ski slopes, but also for a large number of prepared ski slopes for fans of cross-country skiing. Our team is excited to present you a selection of the most popular resorts for cross-country skiing.
La Clusaz
The total length of the trails - 63 km. There are 32 kilometers of blue, 12 kilometers of red and 24 kilometers of black cross-country trails. The resort is famous for the fact that it regularly hosts the world and European Championships in cross-country skiing.
Courchevel
The total length of the trails - 90 km. They pass through the territory of Courchevel, Meribel and La Tania. Four routes start at the resort: Col de la Loze ring pass, Bouc Blanc, the Meibel Valley trail and the path to La Tania.
Val d’isere
The total length of the trails - 21 km. The trails have different difficulty categories: green (La Daille, Manchet Valley), blue (Manchet Old Hamlet, Ouillette Lake, Le Fornet), red and black, which are available for free. In addition, a new orange multi-trail for walking, fat biking, cross-country skiing and other outdoor sports is opening this season.
Megeve
Total length of trails - 38 km. Categories range from basic to professional. Some areas are free of charge, while others start at 5€ per child and 8€ per adult, respectively. A new black track has been opened at the intersection of Livraz Chalet and Cote 2000.
Alpe d’Huez
The total length of the trails - 50 km. There are 3 blue trails (Boucle Huez, Boucle de Brandes, Boucle de Poutran), one blue, turning into red (Boucle Rochette) and one red (Boulce des Lacs).
Avoriaz
The total length of the trails - 37.5 km. This area is considered as the main one, but for true cross-country skiers 250 km zone Portes du Soleil is prepared.
All resorts have the opportunity to book individual or group lessons with a coach to improve the practice of skiing. For example, at the ESF ski school in Courchevel 1650, the cost of an hour and a half class in a group is 109 euro.
