Hotel Aman Le Melezin 5* - France - Courchevel 1850

Aman Le Mélézin is a five-star hotel in Courchevel 1850 standing directly on the Bellecôte piste: guests put their skis on in the hotel’s own ski room, step onto the slope, and come back to the same door at the end of the day. From here the whole of Les Trois Vallées is open, 600 kilometres of groomed pistes. The village centre is 200 metres away. Four storeys, oak panelling and full-height windows onto mountain, forest and piste.

The hotel has 31 rooms, 23 of them with balconies, sold in ten categories — from the 22 m² Petite Chambre to the 93 m² Suite Le Mélézin with its fireplace. The leading category, Chambre Ski Piste, with ten rooms, was completely renovated across 2024 and 2025. Many rooms interconnect, and the two-bedroom Family Apartment sleeps up to five.

Rates include half board: an à la carte breakfast and then lunch or dinner, either in the hotel’s own restaurants or at five partner restaurants in Courchevel. Also included: the wellness floors, scheduled morning classes, the Kids’ Zone for children from 2 to 18, a shuttle within Courchevel 1850 from 07.00 to 01.00, the ski room with its ski-valet service and in-room refreshments.

The ski room is the BO Luxury Ski Room by Bernard Orcel, with heated boot racks and a winter-sports boutique for hire and purchase. A team of ski butlers carries equipment out to the piste and prepares it each morning. The concierge arranges instructors, mountain guides, lift passes, transfers and reservations; helicopters land at the Courchevel altiport. A doctor is on call at the hotel 24 hours a day.

Winter season 2026/27: 10 December 2026 to 4 April 2027.

Akari. The new Japanese concept for 2026/27, taking the place held by Nama. Sashimi, sushi, Wagyu, otoro tuna and ramen. Breakfast, lunch 12.00–13.30 and dinner 19.00–21.30 daily. Open to non-residents by reservation. French dishes on request.

Yakiniku on the Terrace. Japanese tradition meets Korean barbecue: premium cuts, and also fish and seafood, grilled over embers at your own table. The south-facing terrace above the Bellecôte piste. February to April, lunch only, 12.00–14.45, weather permitting; in poor weather the Akari lunch service replaces it indoors.

The Library. Refurbished in 2025. The Akari menu is served here — lunch overlooking the sunny terrace and the slopes, or dinner by the fire. Through the day: drinks, light refreshments and tea.

The Bar & Salon. Panoramic views over the Bellecôte run, the village and the mountains. The hotel describes its sake and Japanese whisky collection as the largest in Courchevel. A new menu of light bites to go with the drinks. Cocktail masterclass every Wednesday at 18.00: three signature cocktails and one mocktail, with the recipes to take home. Live music: a singer and guitarist alternating with a jazz trio. The Salon has a log fire.

The Fumoir. A smoking room with its own cigar list.

Tea time. A French goûter with waffles and crêpes and a buffet of French pastries, complimentary for resident guests. Separately, a Japanese tea time with a matcha ceremony every afternoon.

Half board beyond the hotel. The included lunch or dinner can also be taken at five partner restaurants in Courchevel. For lunch: La Table des Airelles, Le Chalet de Pierres on the Verdons piste, and La Folie Douce — La Fruitière on the Méribel slope, reachable by gondola without skis. For dinner at the Les Airelles hotel: La Table des Airelles, the Italian trattoria Palladio and the Savoyard Le Coin Savoyard with fondue and raclette.

The Aman Spa occupies two entire floors of the hotel. Five treatment rooms, among them two doubles and one for Thai massage. A 14-metre indoor pool and two Jacuzzis set between stone columns, a wood-panelled sauna, a hammam with Capri-stone walls and a vaulted ceiling, a cold plunge pool and an Iyashi Dôme.

The fitness area is equipped by Technogym; the yoga studio has TRX, and free group classes run every morning. The treatment menu includes the signature Mélézin spa journey, a deep tissue massage, a 50-minute foot and leg massage for recovery after a day on the slopes, and facials using the Aman Essential Skin line.

Access to the wellness floors and the morning classes are included in the rate; treatments and massages are charged separately.

By December 2026 the children’s club grows from 66 to 90 m² and is completely rebuilt, with space for younger children and teenagers alike. A dedicated host is there every day from 12.00 to 21.00, running creative workshops, interactive games and a programme of activities. The Kids’ Zone is included in the rate and is designed for ages 2 to 18. Alongside it is a room with films and series. The youngest can start on the snow with an instructor from 18 months; the children’s village of the ESF Courchevel ski school is in the resort itself.

Among the evening outings the hotel runs Les Prés de la Croix: a snowmobile ride at dusk from the village of La Tania to a mountain chalet, a Savoyard dinner of fondue or hotpot beside a log fire, and on Friday evenings a five-course menu by a private chef; the way back is by toboggan or snowbike. New this season is ski touring by night, climbing on skins from the hotel door and descending by torchlight. The hotel also arranges dog sledding, snowshoeing, snowmobiles, fat bikes, hot-air ballooning, paragliding and helicopter flights.

In Courchevel 1850 itself there is a lit two-kilometre sledge run from 1850 down to 1550 with a free gondola back up, the Olympic-sized Le Forum ice rink, an indoor climbing wall and a bowling alley.
