Hotel Mont-Blanc is a five-star hotel right in the centre of Chamonix, just off the main street. It has welcomed guests since 1849: a white façade with blue shutters and many balconies, with the Drus rising behind a fir forest on one side and the Bossons glacier at the foot of Mont Blanc on the other.
The hotel has been completely renovated by interior designer Sybille de Margerie, inspired by the nature and surroundings of the valley. Its 41 rooms and suites face the mountain panorama — depending on the category, the Aiguille du Midi, the Brévent slope or Mont Blanc.
Guests have access to Le Matafan restaurant and the lounge bar, the 250 m² Spa by Clarins with a 14-metre outdoor pool heated all year round, a Clefs d’Or concierge, a ski room with a private locker for each room, and private secure parking with electric vehicle charging points. A free shuttle runs to the slopes, and in winter a private van, included in the stay, takes guests anywhere in the ski area on request. For seminars there is a 70 m² room bathed in natural light for up to 65 people, which can be divided into three separate rooms. The main sights, such as the Aiguille du Midi and the Montenvers train, are within walking distance.
Le Matafan. A restaurant under a glass roof, looking out onto the Mont Blanc massif. Chef Mickey Bourdillat cooks with the seasons, and his menu travels through the Alps, the Aosta Valley and even the Mediterranean. Open daily for lunch and dinner. The restaurant takes its name from the famous potato galette, the matafan, that “quenches the hunger”.
Lounge bar. A warm, relaxed atmosphere, a fine selection of champagnes and wines, drinks and food at any time of day, with the mountains all around. Live music every Saturday evening.
The 250 m² Spa by Clarins offers face and body treatments, a fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment, a steam room, a sauna, an experience shower and a herbal tea room, in warm colours, wood and mosaics.
Outdoors, the 14-metre pool looks out over the Mont Blanc massif and is heated to 28 °C all year round, with a whirlpool alongside. Children are welcome in the pool under adult supervision; the sauna and steam room are for guests aged 16 and over. Hotel guests can use the spa without a reservation, though booking ahead is recommended at busy times.
