Lucerne ski resort

Lucerne is a city in central Switzerland, in the German-speaking portion of the country. Lucerne is the capital of the canton of Lucerne and part of the district of the same name. With a population of approximately 82,000 people. Lucerne is the most populous town in Central Switzerland, and a nexus of economics, transportation, culture, and media in the region. Owing to its location on the shores of Lake Lucerne  and its outflow, the river Reuss, within sight of the mounts Pilatus and Rigi in the Swiss Alps, Lucerne has long been a destination for tourists.

How to get there: Lucerne railway station is one of Switzerland’s principal stations. There are 40 trains per day between Lucerne and Zurich, with an average travel time of 48 minutes. Zurich Airport can be reached in just over an hour.

Trails, slopes, lifts: 49 blue, 15.4 black and 27.1 red ski slopes kilometers. The ski resorts are served by 34 ski lifts.

Cross-country skiing: 91 kilometers of slopes.

Entertainment: Snowshoeing, hiking, tandem flights (paragliding), helicopter excursions,day trips, nature & wildlife tours, games (GPS iPad rally for groups and families, Foxtrail Schweiz).
